How to ‘Dodge’ the congestion charge…
Operators of a fun fair in London were forced to cancel after they were told they would have to pay the congestion charge for each of their dodgem cars!
Carters Steam Fair hoped to set up in Covent Garden, but after being informed by Transport for London (TfL) that they would have to pay £8 per day, per dodgem, the £800 extra cost forced them to cancel the show.
TfL later admitted it was a mistake, and said that “Dodgems are definitely exempt - and so are horses on the carousel”.
