Extra day for Congestion Charge
Mayor Ken Livingstone has relaxed the midnight deadline for paying the congestion charge, allowing drivers an extra day to pay the charge without incurring an excessive fine.
“This change will give people an extra day to pay. If they forget to pay on the day they now have an extra day to avoid receiving a penalty charge.”
From the 19th June, drivers can pay £8 by midnight or £10 by the following day. The move was prompted by complaints from people who said they didn’t have enough time to pay.
If you pay on the day you will still only pay £8. For more information please visit http://www.cclondon.com
Mayor Livingstone, in a bid to reduce CO2 emissions, has also shown support to the idea of placing an additional £20 charge on people driving high-polluting vehicles.
